| Welcome from President Kristy Frazier Hello and Welcome! Thank you for your interest in Kansas City Young Matrons. We are a club rich in heritage, having served the Kansas City community for more than 100 years. Founded in 1917 by Carolyn Farwell Fuller, KCYM was established for women with the purpose of developing their charitable, educational, and social interests. As it was then, our motto remains today: “To our Club – Loyalty; To the Community – Service.” KCYM enriches the lives of its members through meaningful community service, educational programs, leadership development opportunities, and a wide variety of social events. We are proud to maintain ongoing affiliations with twenty-five organizations, including Avenue of Life, Happy Bottoms, and Giving the Basics. Every other year, we select one of these organizations as the beneficiary of our Philanthropic Fundraising Event. Our upcoming spring fundraiser to be held at the Overland Park Arboretum in April, Raise the Bouquet, will support Amethyst Place—an inspiring organization that helps women and children overcome generational poverty. Amethyst Place provides safe housing, family support, and therapeutic services to empower women and their children to achieve long-term success. Our meetings, programs, luncheons, and many other activities are typically held at our Club House, located at 5211 Cherry Street in Kansas City, Missouri. Our building, which dates to the 1930s, is listed on the Kansas City Register of Historic Places and is adjacent to the University of Missouri–Kansas City campus. The true strength of our organization lies in the lasting friendships formed among our members. KCYM offers a welcoming environment where you can meet new women, serve the community, explore new interests, and enjoy fun and meaningful experiences.
